BREAKING: Former (R) ND Senator Ray Holmberg sentenced to 10 years for Sex Acts with Minors

• Holmberg took at least 14 trips to Prague between 2011 and 2021, explicitly to engage in commercial sex acts with adolescent boys.

He frequented a brothel known as “Villa Mansland,” where young males provided sexual services.

In one email under the alias “Sean Evans,” he wrote to a friend, “The boys rent at around $60 … (sex is extra),” showing his transactional approach to exploiting vulnerable minors.

He also visited a public park near Prague’s main train station to procure sex from boys, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior in a foreign setting where he likely assumed less accountability.

• Holmberg engaged in online predation. In 2012-2013, posing as a teenage boy in a chatroom for circumcised teens, he manipulated a 16-year-old Canadian boy into sending sexually explicit photos.

The boy later took his own life in 2021, and prosecutors suggested Holmberg’s actions contributed to his death.

• While not part of the formal charges, prosecutors detailed Holmberg’s history of leveraging his influence as a senator and former school counselor to groom and exploit young men locally.

Two victims testified at the sentencing: one described being paid to film sex acts with Holmberg in the 1990s, and another, a cooperating witness, said Holmberg used his political clout to groom him, including bringing him to University of North Dakota hockey games in the president’s suite with expectations of sexual favors.

Dude is a monster… 10 years (less with probation) is not enough.
